How it began !

We have been leading a health and fitness lifestyle for over 20 years. We used to come to Fuerteventura on holiday (this island has always held a special place in our hearts) and whilst on holiday we used to spend our days hiking, working out in the sun and always talking about how people would love this experience too.

So we decided to move here from our London life and set up our dream business. After a year The Fit Retreat became our reality.

We pride ourselves on leading by example and work hard to create a place where people can come and fall in love with our take on health and fitness, and Fuerteventura itself.

We believe that our wellbeing retreat holiday works because we put in effort and passion to create something we feel people would really love and want to return to.

Something for everyone. All fitness levels welcome... And now, here we are :)

Lianne is a fitness enthusiast and has been involved in the fitness industry for over 10 years, having qualified in 2011.

She found her love for fitness whilst travelling in her early twenties. Experiencing different cultures and traditions, and meeting different types of people has moulded her into the successful and confident trainer she is today. Lianne thrives on helping people meet their goals and understands the benefits of living a healthier lifestyle.

Dealing with different types of individuals, personal and group training sessions, enables Lianne to adapt and recognise the different needs of her clients. Lianne has also spent time helping mums through their trimesters in pre-natal fitness and then have the joy of getting them back into shape with post-natal fitness. All the different types of training, and learning new and exciting things in the fitness industry have increased her love for what she does and believes in.  

Lianne is very passionate about food and enjoys spending time in the kitchen cooking up a healthy storm. Finding recipes she likes and then adjusting them to her own taste buds is one of Lianne's favourite hobbies.

James is a qualified Personal Trainer and takes pride in his ability to provide knowledge and coaching to help people towards their goals.

He is very positive and confident in his ability to assist and advise people through their lifestyle changes. Making short-term achievable goals and maintaining them has always been important in James's style of training.

Fitness is a big part of James's everyday life as well as surfing, which is, and has been, a passion of his since childhood.  Through surfing he found a love of fitness, nutrition and recovery, which not only helped him further his abilities as a surfer, but also enhanced his strength and physical stamina. What started off as just an interest has turned into his way of life and has enhanced his career in the fitness industry.

 

Frauke - Yoga Teacher

Frauke is a fun-loving yoga teacher from Germany. She speaks English and Spanish fluently and has lived In the Canary Islands for nearly 40 years. Her passion is teaching yoga, and she thrives on helping people meet their full potential. 

 

 

 

Frauke also teaches Nidra classes and meditation. She has been teaching for many years and is a dedicated, inspiring and a very well-respected teacher. She lives a healthy lifestyle and is always smiling and happy to help with anything she can. We are very lucky to have Frauke teach some of our yoga sessions at The Fit Retreat.

Jigyasa is a traditional teacher with a modern age twist. She started practicing yoga when she was a kid, using the practice as a remedy to help with her health issues. Seeing how the practice worked for her, she has believed since then in the power of yoga and meditation. https://sheetsofsoul.com Originally born, brought up and trained in India, Jigyasa has been living on the beautiful island of Fuerteventura for a couple of years teaching yoga and practicing energy therapies. Classes with Jigyasa will help you heal your body, mind and soul and connect better with your inner-self. Her classes provide a good mix of chanting, pranayama, asana and meditation.

We are so lucky to have amazing and professional chefs workout with us.

The Fit Retreat Kitchen is about making food taste delicious. We prepare healthy brunches, adding something special to every dish and really taking pride in what we serve to our hungry guests.

Our creations so far have been a huge success with our guests, and we are really blessed to have such great chefs be a part of our team. Not only are they amazing cooks, but they create a friendly atmosphere and always have a kind attitude making it easy for our guests to discuss/have any “foodie talks” with them.

We are always thinking of new ways to enhance our brunches and meals with lots of new flavours, keeping it fresh and different everyday.

The Fit Retreat want their guests to have the ultimate full body, relax and flow massage during their wellbeing holiday. 

Lie back, and enjoy while our masseuse takes you through a soothing and relaxing experience.

It is so important to have a massage during the week to help your body recover faster from all of the activities you are doing - giving your body and mind time to recuperate. This is an important part of our retreats, and our guests definitely feel the benefits of their massages.
